Metabolic Conditioning (MetCon) can be defined as “structured patterns of work and rest periods to elicit a desired response from the body. This desired response is usually to maximise efficiency of a particular energy system.“. This class will follow a similar structure to regular classes, but with a few slight differences.
Mobility & Warm-Up: We will get you moving from the beginning of the class with some dynamic mobility drills and slow, steady movements patterns to improve range of motion at the joints and get your core temperature and heart rate up.
Conditioning: This is the ‘workout’ part of the class and where we will get you working hard!
We will include all the big compound, functional movements you know and love such as squats, lunges, pushing & pulling variations, hinging, twisting/rotating, jumping, running, rowing, carrying, cycling, throwing and climbing. Movements can all be scaled up and down to suit individual goals, needs and abilities. This section of the class will be anything from 20 minutes to 45 minutes in length!
